Penallta Park Ponds
There are two coarse ponds in Penallta Park that can be fished by Royal Oak AC and five other Clubs which form the Rhymey Valley Federation of Angling Clubs.
The pond were created about 20 years ago and were heavily stocked with silver fish, perch, carp, bream and tench and as the ponds have matured so has the quality of the fish stock.
No fish are to be removed and barbless hooks must be used.
As part of the agreement between the Federation Clubs no competitions are to be held at these ponds and no keep nets are to be used.
The season follows the normal coarse fishing dates – 16th June- 14th March
Location & parking
The ponds are situated approximately 1/4 mile north west of the Council Offices at Penallta House, Tredomen Park (Post code CF82 7PG)
Parking in the area is limited and although there is a public car park on the A472 Nelson Road from which a short walk will take you to the ponds.
Alternatively it may be possible to park in the Council office car park and walk up the cycle / pedestrian track to the ponds – see map
